General dentistry involves all areas of oral health and hygiene, whether it's getting a routine cleaning, replacing old metal fillings with white composite fillings, getting a root canal, or replacing a cracked tooth with a crown or bridge. Receiving a routine dental examine twice a year is crucial in maintaining healthy teeth and gums.
Dr. Wilkinson has made educating his patients about preventive dental care a cornerstone of his practice philosophy. With the right information, patients can work better to achieve and maintain a healthy, beautiful smile.
Dr. Wilkinson will work with you to develop a customized dental hygiene plan that will optimize your oral health so that your teeth and gums are in the best shape possible for years to come.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are bonded porcelain facings that can correct the color and shape of front teeth, both upper and lower, with maximum preservation of existing tooth structure.
Tooth Whitening
We fabricate custom delivery trays for carbamyl peroxide whitening gels that can significantly lighten existing tooth shades.
Dental Implants
We work with several outstanding specialists who place dental implants according to our prescription. Implant restorations are then accomplished in our office, including implant supported crowns, bridges, and removable appliances.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Fillings don’t have to be silver any longer. White bonded cosmetic fillings are much more natural and long lasting. The newer all porcelain crowns are exceptionally lifelike and durable. Even short bridges can be fabricated with no underlying metal.
TMJ/Muscle Therapy
Does your mouth or teeth get sore at the end of the day, or do you wake up with painful oral muscles? Are your teeth wearing down? Do you grind or clench your teeth subconsciously? We provide several forms of therapeutic and diagnostic splints to quiet painful TM joints and muscles, sometimes using these to work out a treatment “bite” before rebuilding severely worn down occlusions.
Sedation
Nitrous oxide or oral sedation is provided as necessary to reduce anxiety and make treatment visits more pleasant.
Endodontics
We provide basic endodontic (root canal) therapy as needed for our patients, referring only more difficult cases to specialists. We now use the Waterlase MD as part of our treatment process to provide high level disinfection of the endodontic canals.
Halitosis (Bad Breath)
You do not need to suffer from bad breath. The primary causes of oral mouth odor are periodontal (gum) disease, which is treatable, and the adhesion of bacteria to the tongue and other oral surfaces. If you suffer from this embarrassing problem, talk to us in confidence, and we will help you develop a plan to manage and treat the causes.
